"Sakura", in English is equivalent to the Japanese Flowering Cherry. A cherry blossom is the name for the flower of cherry trees known as Sakura.
This picture is not taken at Japan, but Indonesia. I took this picture last year, 2009, at my office as this flower grows here.
Additionally, there is a song titled Bunga Sakura (Sakura Flower) in Indonesian language, indicated that this flower is well known here. As long as I know, this song is originally in Keroncong rythm.
